I am truly determined that one day I will wake up looking 25 years old again. And I believe that eye cream is one of those ways that it might actually be possible. I am obsessed. I use it every day, twice a day – morning and night.
It’s not necessarily one of the cheaper items you’ll invest in, but I do have experience with a variety of brands, so I can suggest a few and give you my thoughts.
- Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream, $31
- DoTerra Anti-Aging Eye Cream, $60*
- Clovertree Apothecary Firming Eye Cream, $50**
- Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate, $68
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel Cream, $20
My personal reviews:
Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream – One of the more affordable choices out there. And Origins does discounts and deals randomly if you sign up on their list. It was immediately cooling to the skin upon contact, which was super refreshing, probably hence the name. It got me addicted to eye cream in the first place. It felt light; I layered under makeup and every night and sometimes (after a rough night) more than once. I visibly noticed less puffy and tired eyes and I felt like the skin around my eyes was almost a little more luminous.
DoTerra Anti-Aging Eye Cream – This fun little sucker comes with an attached metal roller ball! The eye cream itself doesn’t seem to cool my skin like the Origins; however, it feels so amazing to use the roller ball around tired eyes first thing in the AM. And it’s light enough that I’ve carried it around in my purse and used in the middle of the day before.
Clovertree Apothecary Firming Eye Cream – This stuff smells like chocolate. It is loaded with caffeine, which is the firming part of the equation. It is definitely the thickest of the three listed thus far. Which also means you use less. And the jar is the biggest, so it’s a win-win. I also feel like it’s moisturizing. I feel like the skin around my eyes is softer since using, which is great considering it’s tightening and firming that skin as well.
Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate – According to Allure Magazine in December 2017, this is the number one eye cream out there. I have not tried it, but this wouldn’t be a complete list without the “best.”
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel Cream – This is the cheapest eye cream I could find on the market. Don’t discredit something just because it’s totally affordable and at a drug store. Full disclosure: I have purchased this eye cream, but have not used it yet. It felt light, yet moisturizing on my fingers when I tested it. This tube is currently living in my travel bag. I’d die if I lost a $68 eye cream while traveling, but I can handle $20 if I had to.
If you have an eye cream you swear by, comment below and LET ME KNOW! I’ve got a ways to go to shave 13 years off my face and I love all the advice I can get.
*I sell DoTerra products ** I work for Clovertree Apothecary. To me, this means nothing, because I only use what I like. I also only work with companies I believe in. But I also believe in transparency.
Cheers,
